Brand new TCG/MMO game that currently has a kickstarter running. Made by Cryptozoic who makes the WoW TCG.Beta starts in late summer and the game will be released in the fall. The main page goes more indepth and has examples of cards.Kickstarter is 30% funded less than 24 hours in.Gameplay should be familiar to anyone who has played Magic before. Here is a alpha test video of a game being played in the client, which reminds me of the Duels of the Planeswalkers client (which is excellent).Game combines aspects of TCGs and MMOs:- 350+ Cards in Set 1. You get a 60 card starter deck on account creation. 15 card booster packs can be bought for $2 or ingame gold.- An auction house where you can buy/sell/trade cards/gear/packs/etc for either real money or gold.- Tournaments. 8 player on-demand Constructed, Competitive draft, Casual draft, and Swiss play tournaments.
Daily tournaments starting every 4 hours. Weekly and monthly tournaments. Guild only tournaments. Coming in the future All Common tournaments, Highlander tournaments, Marathon Tournaments, Pre-release tournaments, 2v2 and 3v3 tournaments, PVE tournaments, etc.- Create a Champion from 8 races and 6 character classes. Champions level and have talents that can change gameplay.- Dozens of Dungeons (single player PVE) and Raids (3 player PVE)- Cards are either PVP or PVE.- Join a guild.
Guilds have Guild Banks where players can create decks and register them, then other members can practice against these decks.- Hundreds of pieces of gear that can change how cards work. Gear is PVE only. They are taking advantage of being a fully digital TCG:Some cards have sockets so you can customize them with gems.Cards that transform when certain conditions are met.Cards have a Double Back.
Flip once to see the pack, flip twice to see the Double Back. Achievements, stats, and experience are per card and persist through selling and trading cards. Quote:Q: When you get an Alternate Art version of a card, this happens to all occurence of the card that you own or only that one?Same question for EA and FoilIf it happens for each occurence, when you trade it, the card remains AA/EA/Foil or it gets reseted/to the condition the new owner already has?A: Each card is unique, so you unlock those features individually per card. And when you trade for a card, it keeps all its previous experience and features. We think this is incredibly engaging and provide even greater depth in the TCG space for collectors, traders, and players. The kickstarter rewards are mostly PvE based, but have PvP alternate art cards - I would just like to know, will PvP cards be usable in PvE? Or are the cards truly exclusive?A.PvP cards - Can be played in both PvP and PvE gamesPvE cards - Can only be played in PvE games.Except for the rare occasion where we do crazy PvE tournaments and let players go crazy with their super powerful cards. We want to make sure the PvP experience is well balanced so everyone is on the same playing field. Also, Gear (equipment) for PvP cards can only be used when you are playing your PvP cards in PvE dungeons and raids.

Gems can be used in both PvP and PvE games. Quote:1) There is a mail system, so you can just mail things to people that are offline.2) Friends list = Yes!3) Guild Bank = Yes, not sure if there will be a common pool to access, but there will be common decks. Let me explain:Guildies will be able to create decks and put them into the guild bank (I believe there are a limited number of slots).
Any guild member will then be able to 'check them out' and play them against other guild members (can't play them against non-guild members or in tournaments). Think of this like a 'gauntlet' where you put all the best decks in the current format in there, then you and your guildies test out all your decks against the guild decks to see if your strategies are working. We want to make sure deck testing is easy and intuitive for you.You won't be able to trade the cards in these decks, and the original owner can check them back out for good or just to modify them. Also, only one person can have one of these checked in decks in a game at a time.Lastly, we are also thinking of some way for guilds to gain the ability to have the top decks of major tournaments populated into their deck repository to play against. How do draft tourneys work? Are you using your own cards or do you pay the fee and 'draft' the cards offered by the tournament? The fee to enter is 3 booster packs.
8 people enter. You open 1 pack and pick a card, then pass the pack. Pick a card from the next pack, then pass it, etc. Continue until all cards are gone.Continue this with packs 2 and 3. Then you make a deck with the cards you drafted and play a tournament. You keep the cards you draft. That's the advantage of the Pro Player tier.
One free draft tournament/week for life is basically 3 free booster packs a week for life.EDIT: Here is an example Magic Draft Simulator. Quote:We're 24 hours in and we've surpassed the $100,000 mark.
Thank you to you, our backers. Without you, of course, this wouldn't be possible.
